When a community considers adding a skate park, the end users initially have a utopia concept in mind that has the facility open 24 hours per day, rain or shine, very few rules and located in such a spot that is not too obvious to the public or law enforcement. The reality is that some of these initial expectations will foster higher liability exposures if not properly managed.

The intent of this article is to explain what the exposures are, what the entity needs to do to protect the public, and the necessary protection for the entity itself.
